1839 Queen Victoria Sovereign
One of the rarest Victorian Sovereigns...
The 1839 Sovereign is a very special coin, and one of the most hardest 19th Century Sovereigns to obtain. It is one of the few coins which is easier to find in proof variant than the bullion coin. Like the other early Victorian Sovereigns, the coin has a high-relief portrait of the Queen designed by William Wyon, with Jean-Baptiste Merlin’s splendid shield design on the reverse.
Early Victorian “Shield” Sovereigns are high in demand at the present time, and stocks are very limited.
This item is a slabbed encased and officially graded example.
